The US Product Safety Commission has recalled 635,000 toys from China. Many of the items are unsafe because they contain excessive levels of lead, which are toxic to children, and can cause serious injuries. Other products are unsafe because of faulty manufacturing or design. Whatever the reason for the recall, roughly 10% of the recalled items were Halloween toys, so the products came off the market just in time for parents to keep their children safe.
