This blog has reported many a product defects concerning toxic children's toys; mostly imported from China. In fact, more than half of all recalls have been for Chinese manufactured goods. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) claims it is powerless to enforce basic safety standards in imported goods, such as controlling lead content. If the CPSC cannot keep our children safe, then it is up to consumers to put pressure through on companies like Mattel, who import manufacture approximately 65% of their toys in China.
