A single vehicle car accident in San Francisco has left one teenager dead and three others hospitalized. All four people in the car were 17-years-old.

According to South San Francisco police, a black 2004 Pontiac GTO was heading north in the 1400 block of El Camino Real around 9 p.m. when the driver lost control, struck a curb, hit a brick wall and flipped over.

The three other passengers were taken to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Pontiac sustained major injuries and was being treated in the intensive care unit. A passenger in the rear of the vehicle was also treated in the intensive care unit.

The police continue to investigate the accident. They believe that a high rate of speed was a contributing factor to the accident. They are asking witnesses to call them with any information.
