Car Hits Pedestrian in Port Arthur

A woman walking on Ninth Avenue in Port Arthur was hit by a car this morning. The pedestrian was airlifted to the hospital after the accident. Her name has not been released.

Upon investigation it appears a vehicle was traveling south in the 7200 block of Ninth Avenue when a pedestrian, walking in the roadway, was truck. The driver of the vehicle advised police he did not see the woman and was unsure of her exact location prior to the accident, according to a press release from the PAPD.

The police are still investigating the accident. They do not believe alcohol or drugs were the reason the driver hit the woman. It is unknown the extent of her injuries or her condition at this time.
